Father's Day

Last night the "G" Squad got together for dinner.... Annie got a little upset with me and said "you never change your blog" so here you go Annie! Don't expect too much:)

Sunday was Father's day of course, so I took my sisters up to my Daddy's grave. We also picked up my step mom on our way over there. It was a hard day, the first Father's Day without my dad. But it was also a great day to spend time with my family. My dad is buried in Bountiful. He does not have a headstone yet, kinda crazy, so my step mom made this temporary one for him.

The start of the summer

Well as you all know, my summers get a little crazy traveling for cheer. This summer I have decided to only do 2 camps and they are here in Utah. My summer now consists of coaching Bingham High school cheer, working at my office, summer school, and 2... thats right, only 2 cheer camps. Over memorial weekend I went to NCA staff training in California. This is a pic of our whole West Coast staff. There are about 150 of us there in this pic. I am on the front row! The picture with the potato sack is pretty funny, only because there is a blond joke that consists of potato sacks. Ask, me and I will tell it to you:) Staff meeting was great!

My Favorite Job!!

I have wanted to post this video for sometime now. A lot of people wonder what my cheerleading job consists of. Well, I work for a company called the National Cheerleaders Association. They were the very first cheerleading company ever. Our company is nationwide and has about 800 staff members. I am on the West Coast Staff which consists of about 120 staff members. This will be my 5th year on staff. We learn new material each year and teach Jr. High and High School cheerleaders at our camp everything they need to know for cheerleading. Last year I was honored to be chosen out of 100 staff members to become a Head Cheer Instructor for the company. I am now in charge of all camps I attend which is pretty cool. This month I get to travel to Dallas, TX to attend Head Cheer Instructor Meeting with all of the other Head Instructors around the country. We get to see all the new and up coming material as well as attend meetings to make our summer camps the best they can be. At the end of May, I travel to Los Angeles, CA for West Coast staff meeting. All of the West Coast members attend this meeting for about 3 days to learn material and prepare for the upcoming summer. During the summer I get to travel around the West Coast and instruct cheerleading camps. I love this job more than anything. On the first day of every camp, we do a mini routine to show off our skills to the kids. We all meet the day prior to put it together. So... here is an opening rally, we call it, done at a cheer camp I staffed last summer up at Central Washington University. We had about 25 staff at this camp so we get to do a big performance. At my Utah camps, we usually only have about 8-10 staff there. I hope you like it! ENJOY... PS.. I'm the blond one:)
